Im sorry for my english. Im young moviemaker from Poland. I'm trying to make a CounterStrike film.

I need to create one effect looks like in the link below:

After few hours spend at trying to make that effect i make some little similar but im not satisfacted with final effect.

    Hello !

First of all, welcome on repaire.net, and sorry for my english too, because I don't practise so often... :o
In this sequence, I think that there is many effects together.
Try to animate radial blur/directional blur (I think this is the exact english term; in french it's "Flou directionnel") on some parts of the image. Use the Displacement map too and particles (such as flames and smoke, but using the colors of the video as en emitter). These last ones won't all be visible: some of them will be used as a map of displacement.
The character has been isolated from the rest of the video and receive effects only on his cloak (his face is still visible).

Form some parts of the image, it's an image per image effects. For the rest, you'll have to animate a lot all the parameters (such as the wind on the particles).

    I dont' know if I'm undestandable. :o
    I hope so, therefore !... ;)

Tell me if you have comprehension problems !... :)

    Bye,
    Jeum.

    THX for Your welcome:)

Before i read your post i make some similar effect. Link below:

    Comp 1_2.avi <File size 726.33 KB>

I know... a long way before me...
    I use:

    stroke
    Fractal noise
    CC radial fast blur...
Someone tell me that i should use a CC partical world but i have no idea how to use this effect:):)

ok... now i try to translate and understand your help-post and try to employ this in AAE.
    Wish me good luck. please.

    Bye.

    EDIT!!

    ok. i translate this:)
in fact i dont need to isolated any bitmap from the rest of the video cause i have only the credits in my video (you know, name of songs and players... who help me etc.)
so it is only a text.
I dont know how to use the Displacement map... im very sorry... im noob:(:(
where i should looking for this effect? or maybe it isnt an effect?

I Think this is a good try ! but I would look a turbulence (sorry i don't know the english word in AE) or you can use a displace to have this effect of distortion, displace with a fractal noise. If you don't know how to use it, i think you can find some tutorials on sites web like Creative Cow. Jeum said all. Anyway, Good Luck !

    Hello !

    Thanx, man ! ;)

Displacement map offers a distortion using levels of grey. Grey means no deformation, black or white means maximum distortion. For example, you can nearly simulate sea waves, making white radio waves on a black (or grey) background, which will be used as a displacement map for an ocean texture, you see ? :o

    Hum...

The best is maybe to read the online help... :D

And that's true: your test is good ! Just animate in different direction during the sequence (tha grave's turbulences... ;) ) to give a less numeric style !

    Bye,
    Jeum.

    Ok.
I've made similar effect. Link is below:
    Comp 1_8.avi <File size 1.95 MB>

Great thanks for your help. I'd never go so far without your help.
Now I've to try it out to make it look good.

One more time: Thanks!! (in my language: Dziękuję!!) :):)

    Bye

    Hi... its me.. again:)

I just read again Your post's and understund:

"These last ones won't all be visible: some of them will be used as a map of displacement."

    My question is:
How to use flames or smoke as a map of displacement??

    Hello !

A map of displacement is a layer in levels of grey. You'll have to turn your flame or smoke layer into black & white, adjust levels to give contrast, and then you use it as a map of displacement. This will give deformation according to the movements of the flames/smoke to your original video.
You should take a look at the online help (F1 key); this could help you to understand this effect, I think (you could try this tutorial: Creating an Invisible Man ; it could help you with displacement mapping too).

    Bye,
    Jeum.
