DVD Tray Player Pro v1.6 (FREE) now available!


DVD Tray Player Pro is a freeware software DVD player written specifically for DVD authors and this release contains some important and exciting enhancements:

The IFO Analyser
Whilst the DVD is loading, the IFO Analyser examines the disc and prepares a structured report containing the following information:

1. The DVD section includes details of the disc itself, its load path and volume label, the number of VTS filesets it contains, the Provider ID (sometimes used to store the name and version of the authoring software used) and, where provided, the name of the main feature, its series' name as well as the names of the principal actors.
2. The VMG section includes details of all menus and of the "First Play" item. For menus, the menu type is given, any prohibited user-operations are listed and position, size and activation/selection characteristics of the menu buttons are provided. In addition, Pre, Post, Cell and Button commands are disassembled.
3. The VTS_x sections include all the menu information as per the VMG and also full details of each Title within the VTS. Title Pre, Post and Cell commands are disassembled.


Other noteworthy enhancements and changes include

1. The Pause button now acts as a toggle (in common with other players); this means you can now switch betweeen Pause and Play using successive strokes of the spacebar.
2. You can now switch between Full Screen and Windowed modes using Alt+Spacebar.
3. The D(isc) menu button has been replaced by the T(itle) menu button to be more in keeping with DVD authoring terminology.
4. The running time of the current chapter is now given on the Status Bar in addition to the Title's elapsed and total running times.


The IFO Analyser and DVD Log (both of which can be saved to your harddrive) have been designed to help you identify and fix any problems with DVDs you author. Extracts may also be of great use to Oscar should you discover a problem with DVD-Lab.

Although DVD Tray Player Pro is free (for non-commercial use), I would appreciate it if you would append a reply to this message if you are using the program. I also welcome any comments, enhancement requests and (to a lesser extent!) bug reports.
