    hi,

    does anybody know how how Import a .sub file into Encore DVD? I've read manual... Encore seems to import 3 types of subtitles scripts:

    - text script
    - FAB images script
    - Caption Inc. script

    Actually I've no ideas about them... I can't find any explaination.
    Thank you for any help!

    Regrds,
    Gioacchino

    I convert my subs to encore format (if it come from a different sub format like .srt .ssa or .sub) with SUBTITLE WORKSHOP(It can import up to 40 differents formats and allows you to create your own sub format and it's totally free )(http://urusoft.cjb.net).

    I use the custom format (save as|Custom Format)
    Remove all txt in the window on the right and past this :

    {RepeatSub}
    {SubCount} {swStart} {swEnd} {swText}
    {EndRepeat}

    save & give extension : *.txt

    The structure will look like this once you've saved you subtitle :
    hh:mm:ss:z text of your subs

    - Save as unicode if it's none english sub to work in EncoreDVD
    (because of special character like é, à,ù,...).

    - Use a font size that is larger enough -28 seems good-
    or you'll get an error at import.

    - To make a long sub line going on 2 lines just Press Enter
    where it has to be "cut" (EncoreDVD can cut it but it will be badly cut).

    EX:
    01:30:25:7 This is gonna be a very long line so you must use ENTER to cut it

    It will give something like this :

    01:30:25:7 This is gonna be a very long line
    so you must use ENTER to cut it

    - Importing subtitles in EncoreDVD will take some times
    (around 3-5 min for me with a 1h35 subtitle file).Better get a good machine or be patient.

    - When rendering preview whith subs (in the monitor window)
    it takes some time to...

    Well that's all, hope it will help you
